Matiere Premiere is a French perfume house founded in 2019 and co-founded by Aurélien Guichard. The project began with the first fields planted in 2016 in the Grasse region alongside Caius von Knorring and Cédric Meiffret, with the ambition to create a contemporary perfumery centered on the raw beauty of a natural material.
The brand’s universe is defined by clear, linear and modern formulation, always in service of the raw material. Each creation is built around a central natural ingredient in overdose, selected or cultivated for its singular strength to reveal its character with precision and depth.
Matiere Premiere prioritizes olfactory quality, the prominence of ingredients and the in-house cultivation of materials such as centifolia rose, tuberose and lavandin. The result is a direct, refined and essential vision of contemporary French perfumery.
