Created by Christophe Raynaud for L'Artisan in 2021, Légendes du Cèdre draws on the mysticism of cedar and on a local legend surrounding an ancient tree associated with the Tree of Life and immortality. Rather than turning that idea into something overly solemn, the fragrance translates it into a composed, finely judged structure where wood becomes an emotional register: calm, upright and quietly beautiful. From the opening, cedar takes the lead through the pairing of Virginia cedar and Moroccan cedar. Together, they sketch a woody introduction that feels dry, clear and textured, yet nuanced, as if two expressions of the same symbol were meeting at once: one more crisp and almost mineral, the other warmer and more embracing.
