That concept is not rendered here as a sheer or decorative floral, but as a rose with amplitude and movement—luminous, seductive, and constantly shifting in tone. Released in 2017 and created by Philippine Courtière, this extract approaches the flower with sensuality and structure, balancing radiance, spice, and depth with a controlled hand.
The opening is vivid and tinted with fruit. Raspberry and Tarocco orange bring brightness and juicy lift to May rose, giving the first moments a sense of gleam and texture rather than sugary softness. There is freshness, but it is colored freshness: the impression of a rose catching light, already fuller than a traditional rose soliflore. In the heart, Damask rose deepens the theme and turns it more tactile. Davana adds nuance, African geranium brings aromatic lift, and cumin introduces a finely judged warmth that pulls the floral accord closer to skin.
The base is where the rose completes its metamorphosis. Sandalwood and cashmeran create a smooth, creamy underlayer, while musks refine the composition with a clean, warm fabric-like effect. Ambergris, oakmoss, and incense add shadow, contrast, and a slightly resinous gravity that keeps the fragrance from feeling merely pretty.
