Eau Papaguéna

Released in 2015 and composed by Pierre Negrin for Élisire, Eau Papaguéna is officially described as an “Extract of Sun”: a fragrance built to capture the tactile impression of sunlight on skin, when warmth turns into radiance and freshness has not yet disappeared. It explores that idea through an aromatic, green structure that feels clear yet nuanced, where citrus is not treated as a simple burst of brightness but as something textured, sensual and naturally alive.

The opening brings together Calabrian bergamot, grapefruit blossom and cardamom. Bergamot gives the fragrance its immediate clarity and lift, while grapefruit blossom adds an airy floral edge that keeps the citrus profile refined rather than sharp. Cardamom introduces a measured spicy accent, shaping the brightness and giving the opening more dimension. The effect suggests sunlit skin touched by a cool breeze: energising, composed and easy to recognise on an emotional level.

At the heart, orange blossom absolute and Sicilian citrus extend that solar theme with greater breadth, while ambrox brings a radiant, enveloping texture that reinforces the sensual side of the composition.
